Hi all

Some questions reg Buried features

1) Whats meant by Buried features ( in detail pls)
2) I am having lets say 1000 sheet metal part which will be having almost 10000 features (10/part). how can i easily check all the parts for Buried features?
3) Any model check options available
4) Need some guidelines which we need to follow while doing sheetmetal modeling (may be the guidelines are available in web, but i think its always good if it comes from guru's available here)

Thanks

Add a hole "A" to a part, then add a protrusion that fills the hole.
Or
Add a thru hole "A", then add a bigger thru hole around that.

Hole A in both cases is said to be buried. The same is said for any
feature that is compleatly surrounded by a cut or protrusion.

Thanks Glenn..

I understand that now..

How to solve those problems with out opening each and every part??

Hi,

Buried features are created or formed during model creation process, and they can not be solved without opening those every particular part.

unless until those buried features messes up the design intent of the particular part we need not worry about them.

This is up to my knowledge. I would like to hear more about this from from others too.
