BTU Flow in a flexible connector

Hello guys. This is my first thread here.

I`m trying to know the BTU`s insdie a flexible connectors.
The information that I have is:
Internal diameter of the hose: .570"
Total length: 47"
Pressure: 0.5 - 1 psig.
Flow: Gas

The hose is connected from the supply line to a industrial
grill.

Can someone please explain me step by step, your calculation.

I know that I sound like a stupid, but I`m new in this kind
of work.



 
Well if the GAS is "air" then the answer is "Zero". If it is natural gas or propane then the answer depends upon the pressure drop within the grill.

In engineering flow calculations you'll usually be looking at either a volume flow rate or a mass flow rate. Then if you know the gas you can convert it for that specific gas to BTU's. The HVAC guys have a bunch of shortcuts, tables, and graphs to take a specific gas with a specific pressure and temperature through a specified conduit. You might look in some of the HVAC fora if you want to skip the fluid-flow math and just get an answer.
