Hi, we have a valve for which all the pressure bearing weldments have their WPS/WPQR and qualified welders. But we have a bronze cladding just to lower the friciton. Is not a pressure bearing, nor under stress. Do I need a the same process as for the pressure bearing weldments?

Best regards

If it is a pressure retaining part, then yes, the welding procedure needs qualification to Section IX (QW-216 Hard-Facing Weld Metal Overlay).
Likewise your welders require qualification to QW-382 Hard-Facing Weld Metal Overlay (Wear Resistant). No qualification is unlimited in scope.
p.s., there is no such thing as a non-load carrying weld.

Thanks for you help Will have to take a look.

Best regards
