Hello, I'm seeing a zinc diecast cylindrical rod failing (shearing off) prematurely (small moments applied). I had a composition analysis done, which showed the presence of the following materials, which aren't specified to be part of the alloy: Phosphorus (0.02%), Silicon (0.03%), and Tungsten (0.82%). In addition, the Aluminum and Copper content was also out of range (-1.54% and -0.1% respectively).

Do you think any of these deviations could cause the material to become brittle? I'd really appreciate any advice here!

OP
Send to a Matlab, for analysis and a charpy test.
Yes believe it does , now go prove it.
