Hello,

I am hoping to get some career guidance as I will be graduating with my MS soon and need to pick a path within structural engineering. I am leaning towards the design of bridges or buildings and would like to hear some perspectives of these jobs from those in the industry.

Thanks

do you prefer working for engineers or for architects? (Although some of the largest bridges may be designed by an architect also)

Pick the one you enjoyed more.

Bridge engineers make a little more and don't work as many hours from experience. All my classmates went into buildings and I pursued bridges. I make about 8-10% more than they do and work 40-45 hours/week compared to 45-50 hours/week. And I dont have to deal with architects which seems to be the biggest thing.
