Bolting to Channel Flange

Is it allowed to bolt to channel flanges (tapered), are shims required to level the taper? Reviewing some shop drawings for a very lightly loaded channel running over the top of an HSS tube.

They make sloped washers to match I sections and channel flg. slopes.

You can use Bevel Washer which is designed for the sloping flange face. See attached PDF for code reference.
