Which is the difference in the body of a valve of ball's 8 "DIAM 600# A105 or A216 WCB?

Are There valves A105 body weldable?
Are There valves A105 body screwed?

Are There valves A216 body weldable?
Are There valves A216 body screwed?

Thanks...

One's a forging, the other is a casting. In general the cast valve will be cheaper.

Both materials are weldable. I would be surprised if you found an 8" screwed valve, let alone 600#.

(screwed) I referred to the body of the valve not to extremes.
Sorry if I do not explain.
Thank you

Those are the material specs, both are carbon Steel: 105 is forged Steel and 216 is casting Steel. It does not have nothing to do with weldability of it is threaded.

For a 8" valve you are probably limited to casting Steel in the general market.

There are advantages and disadvantages, but must of all the fabrication technologies tell us that a casted 8" valve makes more sense than a 8" forged valve.

Maximum size of screwed or socket welded fittings and other items is 4". Period.

As mentioned above, ASTM A105 is forged steel and is normally MOC for valve bodies for screwed and forged valves.

ASTM A216 is cast and is MOC for large bore flanged valves.

Also both materials CAN BE welded and screwed but convention is what you need to follow.
