Hi All,

I've now upgraded to Inventor 2016 and am looking at improving my drawing template. I want to insert a bmp image in the title block, that's OK I insert it and all looks fine. When I come to create a new drawing I get a message saying that the file cannot find my bmp logo. Where should I save this bmp to ensure that it finds it every time.

Best Rgds,
Dave R.

Should be in a location covered by your project file setup just like everything else..
I assume you get this (self-explanatory) error message..

Hi mcgyvr,

What I get is the 'Resolve Link' pop-up. What I've done is to paste the logo.bmp into the project folder and the drawing template opens up just fine, which indicates to me that I need to place the bmp into every project folder. I would have thought that the bmp would be located in the templates folder along with the drawing file.

What you should do is never link an image into the Titleblock. Either Embed it or draw it out (best)

Delete it and when you go back an insert the image again, make sure you UNCHECK the LINK box during placement. That will embed the image into the titleblock. But like I said, if you can draw it out in a sketch thats even better. Images are a pain if you constantly save as an AutoCAD drawing.

Hi mflayler,

I'll give your suggestion a try. I never thought of sketching the logo, and being it's a simple one to do I'll try that as well.

Thanks for the tip.
