Does anyone know the manufacturer of hydraulic tubing with a blue spiral marking on the outside surface? Or, is there some significance to the marking (i.e. a standard or pressure rating)?

Is the tube cold drawn or is it black...metric, imperial or nominal bore?

Thanks for responding. I'm not sure, but I think it is cold drawn, 1/4" nominal. I am checking that out.

The specification is for SAE J525 (welded) tubing - .875 OD X .065 Wall.

The colour coding is to identify the composition of the material, such as carbon and alloy metal content and grain structure.

This composition becomes critical when the tube is to be welded.

I don't know what the blue spiral indicates..sorry.
