Hi everyone,

I need a controller to control the speed of sensorless BLDC motor. This controller must control the speed such that speed must change between 5000 rpm and 12000 rpm in a second. I am quite new in this field so I would like to ask which specification should I look in a controller to otain very firm and fast control?

Thanks,

For starters, get a good book on control theory. You need to control the speed of the motor. How much overshoot can you tolerate to get it there within one second? What will it take to get it critically damped? You'll need to understand these terms before you can start to address this problem.

This gets very different if you are talking about this speed change with a motor in a nanobot, or an industrial motor that will take a few megawatts to make that change.

I suggest you start researching the motor specs from various BLDC manufacturers. You'll need to understand all the specs on the motor to tackle this problem.

PS Once you can get to some more specific questions you'll get good support out of this group. Generic questions like this typically go unanswered.

Allegro has few IC for sensorless BLDC motor where you can find how such control works.
