Hello everyone.
I have recently graduated and I have started working in mechanical design field. As it goes, I'm still lacking some experience.
I wonder what would be the best way to mount two components together? i would like to mount shaft collar and part next to it ("spacer"). The spacer is used so the collar can be operated.
Below is the picture of the whole part and picture of a spacer. I can modify the spacer to be bigger in diameter or any for or shape.
I was thinking about welding the parts together (they are made of aluminium) or to use screws, but this is not optimal in my opinion.
Picture of the entire part. This is a "spool flange". It keeps a roll of material from telescoping or otherwise deforming while unspooling under tension.
I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions.
