Hi,

I've just found out that I can't apply Bend option to an Extruded created solid in Sheet Metal.
I do have a logical explanation of why using Extruded, instead of Tab:
I want te reduce the number of using an additional operation (Cut, Slot, etc) for the final profile I want to create.
I have the feeling that a good designer should create a part using as less feature as possbile.
So, why Extrude option in Sheet Metal, does not accept a bend operation?

Thanks

Drill one/extrude thehole after forming.
The forming process itself has too much variation to allow 4 prepunched holes to line up like you show. It could be done if you used a forming block to do it all at once, but it would take some experimenting to get the plate stops just right.

One could argue that since an 'extruded' feature would represent an operation performed after the part is formed, such as drilling a hole in a rolled-up tube, then this is not really a 'sheet metal' operation after all but rather a normal 'machining' operation. Therfore, if it was added OUTSIDE the NX Sheet Metal task it would more accurately represent the actual manufacturing steps anyway.
