Is it possible to consider the force due to belt tension in modal analysis??. I am supposed to simulate for modal analysis of a bracket that supports a pulley .A belt in an inclined direction is running over a pulley with specific tension.
Not true. You can pre-tension the belt with the force you require in a static analysis and then use the static analysis results (i.e. the stiffened structure) to do a pre-stressed modal analysis. The procedure is called a "pre-stressed modal analysis" - make sure pstress is activated, and this will take account of the stiffened structure. Google "ansys prestressed modal analysis" for more info.
