I have an externally generated requirement to provide belleville (spring loaded) washers in my piping system. I haven't used them in the past, but passed along the requirement to my subvendors. (B31.3 piping - hydrogen service)
I have a supplier who's objecting to providing them on the grounds that the high temperatures (580C / 1075 F) would affect the spring properties and reduce the preload over time.
I see they're available in high temperature alloys, so I would think that if this were a concern we could get around it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
