Bearing alloy casting.

I am trying to find a better material for the melting cup my company is using when melting and casting bearing alloy on small thrust pads. They have previously used TP316 steel, but lately they have experienced severe material failure at the bottom of the melting cup. The bearing alloy is tin-based, type Tegostar. The alloy is heated to a temperature of 540-550 degr. Celsius.
Any suggestions?
 
Use graphite or slicon carbide cups. Cast iron can also be tried.

Cast iron would my first thought.
Are yours failing from the inside? maybe just a ceramic wash on the inside would take care of things.
