Bayesian interim report

It's interesting that two passengers came to the bridge because the vessel was listing. Was it listing due to wind or had it already taken on water?

Looks to me like it was listing 10 to 15 degrees because of the wind.

Only when it got hit by the mini tornado like event did it heel all the way and then started taking in water. Report says they battened down the hatches when it started raining.

Looks like a case of unfortunate location getting caught in a very localised squall / tornado like wind event, plus no keel down for whatever reason.

And a HUGE mast.

Maybe the other vessels will start having these or similar fitted inside cabins like they do now I think for helicopter offshore transits after a Canadian one went down with only one survivor.

Once your boat is upsidedown, all bets are off. It's too disorienting, it's too dark, pressure imbalances will keep doors from opening, etc... You know what they say, you can run but you'll just die tired.

Pretty amazing the number of people did get out...

I am left wondering why "they" didn't drop the keel, as soon as they noticed a weather threat.

Probably made a lot of noise and they didn't want to wake everyone up....

Also no idea how long that took.

This is a Luxury hire yacht remember.
