Bathtub load 2

This is a question regarding bathtubs in residential buildings.

I can understand the bathtub itself being treated as a dead load but what about the water in the bath tub? Should it be considered live load, and if so, what is a safe number? It obviously depends upon the depth of the water/tub and the couple of tubs I measured in the last couple of days, indicate a depth to 9". That would suggest to that 50 psf live should be a safe number for water in the tub.

If it's two bathtubs, it's known as the Cialis load.

Unless you have a very big tub - that is generally used. That said I usually show double joists under tubs and appliances where the joists run parallel to the line of applicances

If you spec only bubble bath, the loads will be lighter.

They do make double-jumbo sized tubs, which I didn't realize until I toured an architect's own house and saw one.
