Basketball court SOG thickness

SOG for a BB court in a community center (supposed to be HighSchool grade BB court)with proper flooring:

I have used 4" thick SOGs for autoshops without problems so I think a 5" thick slab should work fine. Any input from folks here would be great.

I'll let the structural types discuss thickness although I think 5 inches would probably be fine. However, you might wish to take a look at the link below - it is a guide to sports flooring. For your purposes, there would be a flooring requirement for resilience, etc. that does not occur with outdoor concrete courts. Having played on both and more on concrete as my knees will attest, the "springiness" of a proper floor is important.

I would think a typical 5" sog thickness for slab on ground would be sufficient. Depending on the floor finishing and joint layout, I would provide a 4" thick slab with 16" x 12" thickenings at 20' crs with a thicker wwf mesh to increase the joint spacing.

Welcome back, been a while since I have seen a post of yours.

I would think that a 5" slab will do the job, however if PT is local and affordable I would consider this just to remove the joints.
