Dear all,
I checked calculation from PV Elite, and found the baseplate formula was divided by 2 as shown below. However, I have Dennis Moss, Third Edition, page 181 of procedure 3-11 that shows divided by 4. The outcome will be dramatically less thickness than calculated by PV Elite. Which one is right ?

From PV Elite: Minimum Thickness of Baseplate per Moss :
= ( 3 * ( Q + Saddle_Wt ) * BasePlateWidth / ( 2 * BasePlateLength *
AllStress ))½
= ( 3 * (222008 + 2527 ) * 16.00/( 2 * 120.000 * 20000.000 ))½
= 1.498 in. [Failed]
