We have ongoing purchasing multistage centrifugal compressors for a new Ethylene Cracker Project. However, balancing piston seal clearance monitoring was not considered by the vendor. The thrust bearing axial displacement vibration sensor and temperature monitoring was enough as per the vendor. I am still urging them to have this seal leakage monitoring.Please have feedbacks for the reliability monitoring of these compressors.
