Automatically run macro on a schedual ?

What is the best way to automatically run a VBA macro on a scheduled basis ? I tried using the windows task manager on my PC but if one of the macros I want to run is already open on my PC (which is often the case) it prompts to open a new version as read only and waits.

Thanks for any input, Michael
