I was wondering if anyone here has experience with auto power steering pump construction? Specifically I was wondering what type of pumps are usually used? I always thought they were rotary vane pumps, but now I've seen things that would leave me to believe they are gear-rotor pumps. Specifically I'm looking at some of the electro-hydraulic type of pumps as found in the toyota MR2 or Mazda 3 series.
