We have a Faro CMM and need to import drawings from Auto Cad (release 14) but the CMM software is asking for an IGES format. Auto Cad does not export this and I am searching for a translation software to convert Auto Cad DWG to IGES. So far no luck. Hope I'm in the right forum.
Thanks
Mark

Hi
you can USE autocad mechanical for solving this problem.because IGES is an global interface standard between cad/cam software and alomost of the sofware have the ability of reading and writing with iges format.
and u can use autocad2000 or autocad 2002 and mechanical desktop 4 or 6.
the command is "IGESOUT" OR "IGESIN"

Rhino 3D will do it. You can open the dwg file and save it to iges.

They have a 30 day trial at (I think)
You won't be able to save though on the trial version, but there are, ahem, ways around that for a temporary use...though of course doing that is illegal and I would never recomend that course of action. Oh no. [ponder] Excessive accuaracy is a sign of poor breeding. -Socrates.

Actually, the Rhino trial version is for good for 25 saves, not 30 days.
