is Ni resist an iron stainless alloy ?
They have similar proerties like stainless steel.
Can it be called stainless alloy?
MY casting supplier said me that it was stainlees cast
I don´t Know whether it is or not.
No, these alloys are not considered cast stainless steel. They are referred to as Ni-Resist and Ductile Ni-Resist austenitic cast iron alloys. The Ni-Resist alloys can be classified into two common types - either standard graphite flake or ductile (spheroidal graphite).
As they are equivalent as stainless steel, of iron, they used to be called iron stainless alloy. I´ve read in some letters on internet. Idon´t know whether is true or not.
gorkus;
These are separate alloys with different corrosion properties in comparison to stainless steel, and should NOT be confused with cast stainless steel.
If you want more information on this subject, I would suggest you obtain a copy of the paper below from the Nickel Development Institute.
