Hi,

I can't understand how a pump or another mechanical equipment can be Atex, I thought that only electrical equipments can be Atex.
It is clear for an electrical equipment the Atex protection Eex d, e, t.. but for the mechanical equipment ??
If someone know, what is the difference between an Atex and non Atex pump ?

Regards

Non-electrical equipment is also covered by the ATEX directive. ATEX covers any equipment that may cause ignition of explosive atmospheres by hot surfaces, friction sparks, electrostatic discharges or other means. The ATEX Directive 94/9/EC provided for the first time harmonised requirements for non-electrical equipment, and equipment intended for use in environments which are potentially explosive due to dust hazards and protective systems.
