ASTM / ASME (S)A-325 Type 1 and ASTM A-490 Bolting Materials 2

Hello everybody,
Point A
According to ASME 2 Part D, SA-325 Type 1 can be used up to 343 °C .
Is this temperature valid for both Plain (noncoated) and Zinc coated finish types ?

Point B
ASTM A-490 has no ASME equivalent (SA-490 does not exist).
What is the maximum temperature to be applied ?
Where outside of the ASME code can we find values references for these temperatures ?

Point C
For both materials, technically isn't it adventurous to apply temperatures (higher than 100 °C) in coated bolting ?

Yes. See Section 3 of ASME SA 325.

You mean allowable stress values? If so, you won't find similar values. You might check with AISC and see if they have published values based on their own methodology.

Why? Corrosion reaction rates in most cases increase with exposure to elevated temperature.
 
The supplementary treatments used on zinc coatings usually degrade above 150 degrees C, so that is one reason to avoid. Another is the inversion of zinc and iron electrical potentials which means the iron becomes anodic to zinc.

MAS Values or Yield Stress at temperature could help.
A good approach of ASTM A-325 and A-490 is given by Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC)
"Specification for Structural Joints Using High-Strength Bolts" 12/2009 Edition - 100 pages of recommendations but does not deal with temperatures.
AISC : I have to find if something exists in their documentation.

The reason I cited Section 3 is that coated and uncoated can be ordered, and the maximum service temperature has to do with ensuring bolt material properties are suitable at the maximum service temperature. It has nothing to do with the coating.
