Is it possible to copy in SE16 an assembly and be given option of creating new parts or sub-assemblies of components within original assembly?

I wish to creat a similar assembly using some common comonents and new similar components.

I could do this in ProE

Alan,

Revision Manager is the tool to use for this. Open up your original assembly and save it to a new name. If you already have similar subassemblies, you can then use the replace tool. While you still have the main assembly listed (with the new name), pick the subassembly you want to replace and then swap in the new subassembly. You can swap subassemblies while in the assembly model, but I like to do it using Revision Manager - it just seems to behave better.

Depending on what parts are constrained to each other, you may find some failed constraints when you open the model, but those are reapairable.
