ASME UCL 23 c Measurement of Clad/overlay thickness

Are there instruments which can measure ss thickness on a clad plate and also measure SS overlay thickness. We have tried using Ultrasonic technique but could not get objective results. ASME specifies Electrical or mechanical means. I have also seen various Clad plate certificates giving map of thickness at various locations on a clad plate.

I have previously used equipment for the situation you describe manufactured by a company called Elcometer. I don't know their current location so you could try a web search.
