We have a liquid chlorine-water heat exchanger. The manufacureres stamp on the ouside of this small HX has letters W-L and underneath that it has S-L. ASME designation for W-L is Welded-Lethal service. Any idea what S-L represents. Thanks.
The "S" is ASME for Section I manufacture and assembly in house or in the field. "L" may have a dual meaning as I've seen "L" meaning lined especially on water heaters.
Thank you uncle syd. i was off ill for a few days but am better now.
Should not "S" be inside a clover type template. In our case it is merely amongst other letters. I would appreciate your comments.
If the is an ASME symbol it should be in square with rounded corners. I would check with the manufacturer to determine the meaning of the stamps as they don't appear to properly applied if they are ASME designator.
Thanks again. Unforyunately there was no manufacturers stamp. We are getting a PV registered shop to make it for us with their stamp and registeration.
