I've searched AISC-SCM-13th and internet.

AISC provides generic, basic information, but, no definitive safety factor for any application. Perhaps I'm missing something.

Internet, as you might guess, provides MANY safety factors for various applications.

What I need is a credible resource, such as AISC or AISI to reference the specific required ASD safety factor to apply to CFS lateral wind shear tables.

Where can I find this safety factor?

Thank you!

I found it in AISI S213-07/S1-09 (2012)...AISI STANDARD North American Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing - Lateral Design 2007 Edition with Supplement No. 1.

Thank you!

First, you correctly answered your own final question about a safety factor for cold formed steel lateral systems per AISI.

Second, FYI, all the hot rolled steel design safety factors (ASD) or resistance factors (LRFD) are clearly layed out in the Specification (AISC 360) which is included as a section within the Steel Design Manual but also free online (as this is the Referenced Standard adopted by building codes in the US). It's also worth noting for hot rolled steel lateral systems that various information, including some overriding safety/resistance factors, exists in the Seismic Provisions (AISC 341) which is included within the Seismic Design Manual but also, again, free online.

AISC does not govern CFS design....AISI does. The "safety factor" in AISC varies by limit state but is 1.67 for most limit states.
