FOR WELDING CARBON STEEL 106-GR B OR ASTM333 -GR 6 PIPE WELDING ,IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO KEEP BACKING GAS ( PURGING GAS) WHILE USING INSERT AT ROOT?. IF NOT USED ,WHAT WAY IT WILL AFFECT THE WELD AND ITS LIFE IN CRITICLE NUCLEAR GRADE WELDS. WELDING IS DONE BY TIG PROCESS WITH C.S COSUMABLE INSERTS. LOOKING REPLY FROM AN EXPERT.
