Hi All

Maybe my question also refers to some basics , but I was wondering , if in a metal forming process , I have both tension (first ) then compression , the material is low carbon steel , Usually I model it with a flow rule, till UTS , but since I see also some surfaces that are under more compression, during forging , they arrive to UTS, I don't know if I can trust these results, specially with a flow rule till UTS

1- How can I apply a damage model while I have had Bauschinger effect most probably ?

2- without application of Bauschinger Effect, at results, I might have the Yield stress in the Elements, but how to calculate the residual stress ?
