Hello all,
I want to apply a torsion moment on the nodes belonging to the transversal area of the midplane of a thin-walled beam. After following the suggestions given here: I could apply the torsion moment. However, the analytical and numerical results of the twist angle are not fitting. I created a pilot node on the top of the midplane, created a contact between the pilot node and the nodes on the midplane and constrained all DOF. Then I applied the moment MZ on pilot point.
My question is: When I apply MZ, What are the units of the moment? Is it N*m? or is it just the force (N)? Does it take in consideration the transversal area where it is applied? I.e.,the resulting torsion moment is the torsion moment divided by the area? Any other consideration to be done in this case? Shall I post the part of the input file about the creation of the contacts?
