Hi guys,

How do i actually apply load per meter cube on a U shape flat surface? I`m trying to model a platform with 4w x 8d x 1h meter overall dimension, including stair, and i`ve been asked to apply a 200kg/m3 to verify whether the design is adequate. This is my first time being asked to apply a load on such method, and i`m a beginner in solidworks simulation. How should i solve this?

Thanks

You should solve it by asking your supervisor for clarification. The request makes no sense.

Hi Tick, thanks for replying.
My bad, its actually meter square. I did not realize i was typing the wrong info. The only idea that i could think of is taking the total area of the platform and multiply it by 200kg. It is correct?

Most FEA programs have a means of applying load by area. I'm certain SW Simulation has this. Remember that load/area = pressure.
