Hi there,
1) Could some one tell me how I can define sequence of load applying to the building in Etabs 3D? I ask that question because I am familiar with another software like Perform 3D that I can define to apply gravity load firstly then seismic load. In Etabs, will it follow that sequence automatically or we need to define?
2) How to define gravity load? Do we do it by using static load case (dead) or we could do it by using whatever load cases we want then add them to the load defined as gravity load. That question is because I just model the building with only shear walls. Therefore I just want to model the gravity load from the tributary areas of the shear walls. Normally, with Perform 3D, I do it by using directly concentrate load assigning on the wall. Can I do the same procedure in Etabs 3D?. How can I let Etabs understand these concentrate loads as gravity load and applying before seismic load?
Thanks in advance

Hi Lisu,
To apply any load in ETABS, you first have to define load cases for the dead load, live, load, etc through the Define menu. There you can enter any name for each load cases, and you can choose whether to include factored dead load. Then you can also continue to define any load combination with the load factor in the same menu. Having that done, you then choose any element(s) or node(s) where you want to apply the load(s), then go to Assign menu to choose load type. The load panel will show fields for you to enter the load. Remember to choose the proper load case before you click OK. Hope this might help you.

Hi TJ,
Actually, I am talking about how to define the sequence of applied loads. I think we can find it set P-delta parameter.Anw, Thanks for your help.
