Hi all,

I've been trying to apply a point load at the middle of a shell element without meshing the element finer. What I did was to plot a joint at a certain location and then add secondary beams to transfer the load to the edges of the shell elemtns. However, the results are wired.

Does anyone know if there is a way to connect a joint to the shell element so that the point load is directly transfered on the shell elements?

Thanks!

You may have been better off assigning shell automesh options to automatically update the mesh without having to rebuild a portion of your model. You can add intersecting gridlines at your point load to help mesh or use general mesh option.
