Is there an equation for the contributing length for the bottom plate (Xbtm)? It looks like it is not included in the text, and in the example (step 17), they mistakenly pasted the calculation for Xshell.

The text part is in V.8.2.3, and is 16tb. In my copy, Step 17 shows they used 6" for the bottom, which is 16t with 3/8" plate.
