Is it possible to certificate a bend API 5L Gr. X60 if the base pipe material is X52? Naturally to obtain this grade I take advantage to the heat treatment I need to forming the bend. Thanks in advance for your help.

Since API 5L is a specification for linepipe and you have a bend, the answer really has to be no! You can only certificate the material against the purchase specification. Ideally, ISO 15590-1 should be used as the purchase specification.

This norm is an ISO. If I work with American Standards there is no distinction between Pipeline standard and bend standard. In fact I work with many vendors that offer API 5L for bend material. Naturally is different for the piping, in fact in this case there is ASTM A 234 that cover bend and fittings material. In any case I would be pleasing if anyone give me the above mentioned response.
