HI
Please i would like to get how to check the zinc anode priore to be installed to protect the above ground bottom tank.

Regards.

You could try a portable "metal analyzer" and check for Zn. Or just cut off a sliver and have it analyzed at a met. lab.

Thank you Metalguy for your response,
But i wanted to say whow to control the efficiency of the anode, having a 1.1 V potential with respect to a reference electrode.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

Efficiency is the percent of anode consumption that provides protection as opposed to "self corrosion". This is primarily a material property.

Are you asking how to ensure an anode is the proper composition?, or how to detemine if its properly installed?, or if it's functioning properly?

I am asking how to determine if the anode is installed and functioning properly.

Thank you

OK, now I understand the question:

1. To determine if an anode is instralled properly, the BEST way to to have proper installation requirements. After this, you could perform an impedence test between the bonding strap and the substrate, but the normal practice is to rely on you installation requirements.

2. To determine if an anode is working properly, I know of only two options:
(a) have proper QA during the manufacturing process, including sampling, and
(b) come back in "x" months and see if the anode is being consumed.

Thank you mshimko for your help, I really appreciated
