I'm fairly new to Solidworks having used Pro/E for the best part of my career.

Is there a way to have an annotation note constrained to a position on the view in a model. In such a way so when I rotate, zoom in etc. the note stays independent from the models position and remains on the same position on the screen. I would like to have some floating text sat somewhere near the corner of the viewport to make notes to remind myself and others of issues with the model and not have this vanish when I zoom in to the model.

Thanks.

Thanks, I will get it submitted at some point.

You could open Word, copy a text box and paste into the model. It stays in place while rotating, but does move when zooming, or you could import an excel sheet, but that also has the same behavior. These might be temporary solutions until an ER is implemented. Sylvia

Double click on the view's border to Lock View Focus. You will se the border highlight which will make any notes placed move along with the locked focus view. You can also create a blank view to do this with or make a saved orientation where the note is easily distinguishable.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a shot when I'm back at work.
