anhydrous hydrogen chloride gas converted to a liquid?

I have a question. I am looking at a process that takes 100% Anhydrous HCl gas and compresses it. Then it is run through some refregeration -72C and transformend into a liquid. It is then stored in a tank for later vaporization.

Anyone know if this can be done?

Sure it can be done. Like propane and quite a few other substances, you may consider the stored material to be a liquified gas. If released into the atmosphere, it would quickly vaporize. But apply pressure and/or low temperatures and you can induce it to be a liquid.

i'd recommend a 3 or 4 stg compressor going to 100 psig from 0 psig. Then use propylene or high purity propane to condense at -40 F and 100 psig. I've not compressed HCl, but I have H2S which is even more scary than HCl. I've operated HCl line in Houston.
