Hello,
I am using ABAQUS to model a pipe which is fixed at one end and free in the other end. The pipe should undergo rotation and I am not sure how to get the rotation about the axis which is thought the pipe.

I mean the angle of rotation.

still I could not find out how to get the angle of rotation (twist)

Why dont you precribe a reference point in the centre of the pipe, and tie the cross-sectional face on the free end to the ref point. Prescribe a rotation on the reference point and that should do the job. Hope this helps.

If it's a 'beam' type pipe then the twist will be given by the rotational degree of freedom about the axis of the pipe, otherwise just calculate the twist by looking at the translational degrees of freedom and using trigonometry.

Do you mean curvture along pipe? they do not give you by defuard. you need to ask them in the field output.
