Angle dimension in a Drawing 1

Good afternoon, I have a model and I imported it into a drawing to dimention it. All was well till I tried to dimension the three tapered cylinder angles. I am trying this on the sectioned view and I am using ANSI dimensioning. What I would like to do is have SW put a horizontal dimention line under the taper cylinder and have the dimension arrows touch the cylinder angle and the horizontal dimention line and display the angle, which is half of the total taper angle. So far the only thing I can get is the total angle or the reverse of what I want using one of the vertical edges. I hope I am being clear enough here. Thank you in advance to anyone with a solution to this problem.

When dimensioning the sketch which creates the solid model, dimension it the way you want to see the dimensions in the drawing, then when in the drawing all you need to do is Insert > Model items & select the Marked for Drawing option.

Failing that, you may need to add a horiz sketch line in the drawing view to dimension from or dimension from the axis (centreline).

I assume you are referring to the sketched line when you say, "unfortunately"

How about using the insert dimension function? Why dimension the same thing twice?

Thank again for the response, I have not hear of that one, where is it? What does it do? Can it pull in the taper of a cylinder?

One reason to dimension it twice is design intent vs. fabrication ease. Product design is much different from one-off machine design. Sometimes the best way to dimension a model for design tweaks is different from the best way to make the machining drawing.

handleman ... that's where the Mark for drawing option and driver/driven options can come into play. Although I make my own drawings, I try to dimension the model sketches as if someone else will be creating them. That way if they ever have to, my design intent or manufacturing intent is carried into the drawing ... providing the Insert > Model Items is used.

Also it could be a long while between creating the model & creating the drawings, so it acts as a reminder for me ... and the way my memory is going, I need all the help I can get.
