Hello, I'm trying to simulate a screw pulled and connected to a threaded plate.
I fixed the plate and put the force under the head of the screw.
I have a problem, the bolt and the screw are approximated, so they don't have the threads. How can I simulate the thread zone? I want to simulate the distribution of the force on the threads, since the distribution of the force is not uniform and every thread carry a different load.
I'm using solidworks simulation
Thanks

the best way to simulate the threads is to model them ! But be careful, not all threads are fully effective or engaged with the load transfer.

oh, and some way to model friction !

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

if you do searches on the subject you'll find quite a few papers. One needs to understand from the word go what detail you are trying to capture. I remember reading a paper which concluded that modelling a thread but ignoring the "helix" has no bearing on the results.
