It´s not only an analyse distance problem in Nx 5, but how can I analyse distance for example when my measure point is a virtual intersection. I found no two pick intersect button in the active picking points or the old point dialog...
what must I do?
thx in ad

I had NO problem whatsoever in doing a distance measure to a 'virtual interesection'. Assuming that the first point was 'real' and the second was the 'virtual' one, the workflow would be:

Select Analysis -> Measure Distance... and with the Type set to Distance, select your Start Point.

Now when the dialog moves focus to the End Point, instead of using the single pick 'Intersection' from the Snap Points options on the Selection Bar, select the Point Sub-Function option (small icon to the left of the larger Orange one in the 'End Point' dialog block).

When this dialog comes up, go to Type and Select the 'Intersection Point' option from the drop-down list. You will note that you now have the option to select a first and second object to define the Intersection Point.

Note however that irrespective of how you have set the Measure Distance 'Associative' option, you can't create an associative measurement to 'Vistual' Intersections, but you will get a valid 'static' measurement.

Note that in NX 6, Virtual Intersections points will be Associative so that the above Measure Distance will update if the model is changed and the intersection is updated.
