An epicyclic with no bearing for the sun gear

I wonder what would happen if the sun gear in an epicyclic was not supported by any bearings radially, being kept in place by the planets only. Would there by any problems, would it center itself, vibrate? Anybody has experience, thoughts on this one?

All epicylics are like this. If the sun was supported it wouldn't centre itself & have proper load sharing.
