We have an Amada 2501v equipped with a Fanuc 160i/L our operator received the error 2100 Laser Dead Zone Alram, instead of going to the book and following the instructions he swithced the entire machine off thinking a reboot would solve the problem. Now it's stuck and neither the Amada techs nor us can get the machine up and running. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

That's a good one.

Its been about ten years ago that I fixed that one. I'm a little rusty.

If I were there, I would look at the alarm, trace it through the ladder, see what position switch is active, change the range of the position switch to make it non active. Then reference the machine then go back to re set the parameter for the dead zone.

Also, more risky, you could change the parameter so the machine thinks it is referenced, move the axis back out the Dead zone, then re origin the machine.

There are a number of ways to fix this one. Sorry you haven't found someone to help.
