AWS B2.1 Table C.1 seems to stop at 1025 for steels in the ASTM A830 group.
My thought is it is intentional ( don't weld it) , not an oversite.
Does anyone know better ?

thanks,

Dan T

SAE 1045 has no assigned category because is not a constructional steel. However it can be welded but must be qualified following the rules provided in (I presume) AWS D1.1.
AWS B2.1 actually goes up to SAE 1030, which contains carbon at about the upper limit of what are considered weldable constructional steels.

As per ironic metallurgist,1045 is often welded but not in typical structural applications under AWS D1.1. Because of its hardenability, added preheat, stress relieving, weld filler metal, and weld processing parameters may or will be required. Because mechanical properties can be heavily influenced by its heat treatment, strength can readily be outside normal structural steels including high strength structural steels.

thanks all,
