Can anyone offer some advice on airtight interlock designs? The device I'm working on has two shelled parts that are snapped together to form a case and it needs to be airtight. It is a breathing device so the pressures are low (< 1 psi). I've attached a PDF showing the design.

Thanks,

I'm not seeing a snap.

The snaps will be separate from the seal. I'm just showing the sealing features in the attached files.

The groove allows solvent bonding.

Is the joint everywhere convex, or have you some other means to force the sealing surfaces together?

Should have mentioned that it needs to be opened for cleaning, so any type of permanent bonding is not appropriate.

If the linear dimensions are in mm, it seems a little delicate for repeated disassembly. How does the user disengage the snaps and/or jack the halves apart without damage?
