Hi,

Does anybody know which is the standard for SIL (Sound Interference Level), in case that such kind of reglementation exists ?

Which are the standards (ICAO or others) who tell something about interior noise level for a commuter aircraft?

Thanks in advance for your info.

Regards
Fernando

I've never seen a regulatory /standard/ for SIL, but it would make sense. I doubt there are noise limits for the interiors of aircraft.

Obvious questions - which country are you interested in?

Have you looked on the website of the relevant authority?

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

You are right, I didn't mention which country....I'm interested in an EU standard, but all aviation standards are quite same for EU or America, as far as I know.

I posted the question here because I couldn't find informations over the Internet.

Is there an ISO standard for SIL? I've only seen a couple of implementations of it, in which case it is unlikely that it would be used to set a standard.

It's an objective measure. I think we use AI now, for windnoise.

AI: Straight up, no bull (as the AI man said to the cow). Sorry! Worked on developing an AI system a few years ago and the joke rang through my head every day.

Correction...

Subjective noise ESTIMATION based on objective measures.

Hi,

Yes, you are right, its Speech not Sound...so bad that we cannot edit the mistakes in our threads...

Thanks for the links, I found also a MIL-STD but now I'm in a trip and I don't have access to my documents to post the number here.

Thanks again.

Fernando
